Turn signals and stop lights brought additional safety to driving. Oldsmobile, Cadillac and Corvette all designed functional as well as stylish rear lights. The tail fins and tail lights of the Plymouth Fury of the 1950's were always easy to identify. Nobody could mistake the three-light configurations on each side on the rear of the late 1950's Impalas.
